Executive Director and Chief Hearing Officer:

Chief hearing officer sets overall policy and supervises OAH; assigns and hears cases; conducts mediation sessions between the cabinet and the regulated community; and reports directly to the cabinet secretary.

Hearing Officers:

Hearing officers rule on motions; set cases for formal hearing; conduct formal hearings; and issue reports and recommendations to the cabinet secretary.

Administrative Section Supervisor and Chief Docket Coordinator:

Chief docket coordinator receives pleadings for filing; issues summons; supervises docket section; coordinates requests to view files; and manages the day-to-day operations of office.

Hearing Officer Assistants:

Hearing officer assistants coordinate telephone conferences with hearing officers; answer procedural questions from parties; maintain dockets; and prepare legal documents for hearing officers.

Penalty Assessment Conference Coordinator:

Penalty assessment coordinator schedules surface mining penalty assessment conferences; maintains dockets; and responds to questions regarding mining penalty cases.

Civil Penalty Collections Coordinator:

Receives and accounts for all civil penalties assessed by and paid into the cabinet.
